30 years ago, the East German GDR dictatorship. Harmut Rosinger, codename "Hans Kramer", an unofficial collaborator of the Stasi. His task: to secretly report on friend Peter Wulkau, suspected of writing a novel criticizing the GDR. As a result Peter Wulkau is imprisoned for crimes against the state. Today it is Harmut Rosinger who feels guilty. He wants to face up to his past, meet Peter Wulkau and together uncover the secret reports that put his friend behind bars, so revealing his betrayal and guilt. Can Rosinger gets the forgiveness he seeks from his former friend ?
